The Foreigners Department of the Ayuntamiento develops a database of artistic groups
The Foreigners Department of the Ayuntamiento of Mijas is looking for bands, with the goal of nurturing a database of groups of different styles, who can offer performances at major festivals in Mijas, especially at the International Festival of Mijas and the Blues Festival.
The main objective is that groups are local, although in the database will also include traditional bands, blues, rock, fusion, folk groups from various natives, Flemish paintings, parades, animation, formation of break-dance, hip-hop street dance, dance groups and a modern classic and many more possibilities, either from Mijas or anywhere in the province
Groups, bands, ensembles and formations must demonstrate a minimum quality level to enter the database, so you must send to the Foreigners Department of the Municipality of Mijas a model, either on CD or DVD, or a link , so municipal technicians can assess your styles and behaviours.
Magnetic supports or links can be sent either to the Foreigners Department of the Ayuntaiento of Mijas (Plaza Virgen de la Peña, s / n) or by email, lmachen@mijas.es. Those interested may also receive information by phone 952589010, during office hours.
"We want to open the range of possible performances not just for the International Festival or the Blues Festival," said the Councillor for New Residents and spokesman of the government team, Mario Bravo.
The International Festival, held in June, has become one of the major figures and cultural holidays of Mijas, involving many countries, offering samples of their cuisine, lifestyle and culture, and for which there occurs folk and music performances in various different stages at strategic locations of Mijas Pueblo.
Meanwhile, the Blues Festival, scheduled for 7 and 8 July, is considered the most important of this musical style of those held in Andalusia, and in which many groups of this kind will be operating in the Plaza Virgen de la Peña.
However, the government team's goal is that the Foreigners' Department database serves all city departments that require the hiring of shows and musical performances.
In this regard, the municipality of Mijas has created several databases composed of different autonomous professional sectors, which are offered the opportunity to budget their municipal services on behalf of minor works, ie not exceeding 18,000 euros.
