The Coin Branch of the Royal British Legion and the Ayuntamiento of Coin exchanged gifts at a ceremony in the Council Offices at Plaza Alameda on Wednesday the 31st of October 2012. The Chairman of the Coin RBL, Jo Taylor, presented the Mayor, Fernando Fernandez Tapia-Ruano, with a Standard that was retired from Service earlier this year. The Standard will now be laid up permanently in the museum at the Convent of St Mary of the Incarnation as a symbol of the close relationship between the members of the RBL in Coin and the Community as a whole. As a sign of friendship, the Mayor presented the RBL Chairman with a replica of the Tower from the Old Convent referred to locally as the “Torre del Antiguo Convento de Trinitarios”. This simple exchange of gifts strongly illustrates the spirit of cooperation between the Administration of Coin and the Branch of the Royal British Legion that has made its home there.
