Coin Foreigners Department

Background and useful information about the Coin Foreigners Department

coinforeigners1small_310_01The Foreign Residents department of Coin was started in December 2008. It is situated in the Tourism Office in Plaza Bermudez (known locally as Plaza de Pescado), just by the Church of San Juan, and is open to the public on Friday Mornings from 10am to 1pm at the moment. Opening hours could well be extended soon. The staff currently speak English, Spanish, Dutch, German, Flemish & French.

The Foreign Residents Department is now open on both Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 2pm. E-mails are processed daily (coinforeigners@yahoo.es).

As well as helping foreign residents will day to day problems, the Foreign Residents Department has organized a Blues Festival & a Multicultural Day in the town, and is in the process of setting up courses for all local residents to help with integration of the foreign population – currently in excess of 8,000 people. These courses are likely to be cookery, photography, painting etc. Watch the website for further news.
