The Ayuntamiento of Velez Malaga requests two new support programs for the unemployed in the municipality

The Councillor for Enterprise and Employment, Antonio Martin, explained that both initiatives seek, through the OALDIM, to expand the supply of services for the unemployed in 2012 and 2013, continuing the initiatives that currently exist.

The Councillor for Enterprise and Employment, Antonio Martin, announced that the Ayuntamiento of Velez Malaga, through the OALDIM, has asked the Department of Employment of the Junta de Andalucía for two new support programs for the unemployed in the municipality of the capital of the Costa del Sol Axarquía.

In this sense, Martin has indicated that the first program that has been asked for from the regional government is the 'Orient', which concerns the continuity of Unit Guidance for the insertion of unemployed in the municipality and manages the personalized itineraries for the insertion, through advice to users, either individually or in groups.

The Councillor for Enterprise and Employment added that this program would begin in July 2012 and would last a year. The budget for the implementation of this initiative, 100% financed by the Junta de Andalucía, is 192,000 euros. "We currently have two Guidance Units, one in the OALDIM and one launched by the PP Government in the Town Hall Offices of Torre del Mar", pointed out Martin.

Second program

Martin continued noting that the second program for which funding is requested from the regional government is one professional experiences related to employment, which aims to promote achievement of the employability of the unemployed through professional experiences for Jobs with tutorials "likely to bring to the workplace and provide knowledge of habits, practices and values ​​of work environments to which the petitioner seeks employment", he explained the local councillor, who added that this program would be for a duration of 12 months and would continue, as of December 1, 2012, the service that currently exists. The budget of 82,000 euros would be paid fully by the Junta de Andalucía.

Finally, Antonio Martin said both initiatives seek to "expand the supply of key services" for the unemployed this year and in 2013. "We intend to be proactive on the issue of unemployment and provide coverage in areas of counselling, support for self-employment and cooperatives, advancing a major issue such as public-private intermediation."
