Alhaurín el Grande - Work begins on integral repairs to calle Fuengirola

This week work has begun on integral repairs of calle Fuengirola, in the section that runs from the Avenida Gerald Brenan to calle Torremolinos. These are some of the tasks that are part of a broader action that includes two phases, firstly, that of calle Fuengirola itself, and secondly, the repairs to a section of calle Torremolinos that runs from calle Fuengirola to calle Virgen del Rosario.
Work has begun with the removal of the road surface before moving on to the placement of new facilities, as is being done for the repair of every street. As explained by the Mayor of Alhaurín el Grande, Juan Martín, who this morning visited the site to check their development, "it's a performance that has a budget of 280,000 euros, although it is anticipated that the improvements will exceed 300,000 euros, which includes placement of new facilities such as electricity at low and medium voltage, drinking water with two networks, telephony, street lighting, separate drainage for rain water and sewage, as well as a new road surface, all using high quality materials. " To which he added that "there will also be prepared pipelines to provide for different future services."
Also, the mayor has reported that "the period for repairs is 4 months for the stretch of calle Fuengirola and another 4 months for the stretch of calle Torremolinos, but will try to shorten these time limits so as not to cause traffic problems to businesses and residential areas, as is expected in mid-May when the first phase is finished.”
Moreover, the Mayor has stated that "these works will embellish the street with wider sidewalks, removal of architectural barriers and provide parking in a very attractive area which is very well located in the municipality, just next to the new library and the Emilia Olivares public school.”
The mayor finally announced that "later on, work will continue on other stretches of calle Fuengirola and the two intersections on calle Torremolinos so, that after this action, repairs can be settled in full." To which he added that "these works are a further step in improving the neighbourhoods of the town and therefore will improve the quality of life for residents."
